This Week with Huzoor - 20 October 2023
After an absence that lasted since June 2023, the virtual mulaqats made a welcome return on Sunday, October 15, 2023 when a group of Khuddam and Atfal from Switzerland had the blessed opportunity to meet with Huzoor(aba). Here's a summary of some of the questions and answers from that session:. The video and link to Al-Hakam below are more detailed in both the question and answers.
Why does Satan invite people to the wrong path?
Huzoor(aba) said: “…Satan is the name of the very being who misguides people to the wrong path. Those who misguide others into performing bad deeds are Satan.” Huzoor(aba) explained that Satan was Satan because of his inherent nature & gave an example of a thief who commits theft because he is influenced by negative thoughts which then leads to such actions.
Huzoor(aba) said Allah has provided human beings with wisdom to distinguish good from evil but Satan’s role is to mislead, which is why Allah advises that one should often recite “Auzubillah Minashaitan Nirajeem” (I seek refuge with Allah from Satan the rejected) to resist Satan’s deception.”
The situation between Israel & Palestine is very bad & Huzoor(aba) was asked what the effects would be on the world.
Huzoor(aba) said that he recently spoke about this in his Friday sermon (link at www.alhakam.org/palestine-israel-gaza/)
Huzoor(aba) commented: “…there is no attention given towards establishing justice.” “…These powers should always remember the guidance of the Holy Prophet(sa) that both the oppressors and the oppressed must be helped. This important point must be understood.”
“So, we should pray to save the world from the destruction & we should pray that Allah the Almighty gives them wisdom & Allah the Almighty give the capability &d wisdom to the big powers to use justice.”
“You will find out how life is paradise is only once you have entered it”, was Huzoor’s(aba) light-hearted response when asked will memories from the past life be remembered in paradise and what is paradise like?
Huzoor(aba) went on to say: “As far as matters of the past life and its bounties are concerned, you will forget about them owing to the grand bounties of paradise. You will forget even the most excellent things from your past life, because there will be far superior things in paradise.”
Huzoor(aba) was asked by a Tifl if hell existed before Iblis’s disobedience to God?Huzoor(aba) replied that there were many Adams before the Prophet Adam(as) we know of who existed 6,000 years ago and that humanity existed hundreds of thousands of years before that & so Iblis/Satan & hell already existed.
Huzoor(aba) then gave a description of hell and its dwellers & said it “…it is like a jail for punishment; they will serve a sentence for their wrongdoings &d then Allah the Almighty will release them – this is what Allah the Almighty states. There will come a time when hell will be emptied and heaven will be filled.”
Best to lead a life that gets you access straight to heaven! [ed]
Some individuals claim to have seen Allah in the clouds or perceived signs in various materials. Huzoor(aba) was asked his opinion on this.
Huzoor(aba) said: “Allah cannot be in a physical shape. If Allah the Almighty is [seen] in a physical shape, then it would be one ‘shape’”. Different people see Allah the Almighty in different ‘shapes’”. So, that means that it is only a metaphorical representation of Allah.”
Huzoor(aba) went on to say that “…to different people, Allah the Almighty is seen in different ‘shapes’ and Huzoor(aba) related this by saying: “It is also narrated that somebody saw a dream in a town in India, where people were very corrupt and involved in so much evil. And he saw in a dream that a person totally disabled and having so many diseases and illnesses – leprosy and all sorts of things – and the person asked him, ‘Who are you?’ That sick man and the person in bad shape said, ‘I am Allah.’ So the person asked him, ‘How can you be Allah? Allah is not like this.’ He said, ‘I am the Allah of the people of this town because they think that Allah has no power and they do whatever they like. They do evil, have left the good things, and are indulged in so many bad things. So, for them, this is the shape of Allah, i.e., the concept of Allah for them. But for the pious people, Allah is different.’”
A young boy asked Huzoor (aba) if the Holy Qur’an possesses healing, why do people then rely on medicines?
Huzoor (aba) said: “Allah the Almighty has instructed us to pray, because there is great potency in prayer and that He is the healer and the one Who grants cure.” Huzoor(aba) said if this is the case, then what is the use of medicines? Huzoor(aba) continued: “But at the same time, Allah the Almighty says & it is part of the Shariah & the faith, to utilise the means that He has created and to use the things that have been created for their purpose.” As an example, Huzoor(aba) cited an example that if God is the ultimate provider of sustenance, why do people work to earn money?
Huzoor(aba) then mentioned about the spiritual healing properties of the Holy Qur’an and said that: “Allah the Almighty says that: Man should follow My directives & in accordance with the commands in this book, Worship Me & to fulfil the rights of My creation, as a result you will become spiritually healthy & become a good person. You will become that individual who Allah himself admits to paradise.”
Huzoor(aba) also stated that it is documented in the Hadith that Surah al-Fatihah [LINK] possesses healing qualities.
Huzoor(aba) was asked in addition to salat and qurbani [sacrifices], what do you give the most importance to in your daily life?
“Allah the Almighty has commanded the practice of Zikr-e-llahi [remembrance of Allah”. Huzoor(aba) said that the ultimate objective is to seek the pleasure of Allah the Almighty Who is pleased by two matters: “The first that His rights are fulfilled and secondly the rights of His creation are fulfilled.” Huzoor(aba) continued by saying that Allah will not accept a person’s prayers if they neglect the rights owed to fellow humans & indeed to fulfil the rights of Allah.
A young tifl, asked about Huzoor’s(aba)'s aspirations when he was a youth.
Huzoor(aba) smiled and responded that he did not become what he had desired; instead, he was made to become what Allah had destined him to be.
Huzoor(aba) was asked if one can wear rings and bracelets?
Huzoor(aba) stated that wearing rings is permissible and bracelets are usually worn for adornment, primarily by women & occasionally as amulets which actually, are not permissible in Islam. Huzoor(aba) explained that if someone wishes to wear a bracelet temporarily & then remove it, that is acceptable. However, it is not permissible [for men] to wear gold in Islam.
