PART TEXTUAL SUMMARY – This Week with Huzoor – 10 May 2024
Huzoor(aba) presides over a virtual mulaqat with Missionaries from Canada who gathered at the Baitul Islam complex in Peace Village.
At this virtual mulaqat, Huzoor(aba) gave guidance to the Missionaries, describing their roles precisely and with clarity. While the wisdom imparted was directed at the missionaries, it goes beyond to serve as guidance for all Ahmadi Muslims, inspiring them to elevate their spirituality, deepen their worship and enhance their righteousness.
Huzoor(aba) emphasised to the missionaries that they should evaluate their standards of worship and said: “Every missionary should consider themselves a soldier,” and reflect on their duties, responsibilities and how they can fulfil them. Huzoor(aba) said they should evaluate their standards of worship, consider their consistency in performing Tahajjud prayer and how they engage in heartfelt worship by offering prayers in a state of humility and intensity of feeling. Also Huzoor(aba) mentioned, that how many missionaries read and understand the commentary of the Holy Qur’an and how many explore the writings of the Promised Messiah(as) and derive knowledge from these sources. “... Missionaries and Jamia students write many questions to me. But if they have read the books of the Promised Messiah(as), therein they shall find the answers. This means that if they read, they are not reading carefully and attentively.”
Huzoor(aba) then spoke about a few who think that because they possess a great deal of knowledge, they think they are superior than others. Huzoor(aba) emphasised a fundamental principle which he had previously mentioned particularly with regards to missionaries, a poetic couplet of the Promised Messiah(as) which translates as “In your mind, consider yourself worse than everyone else. Perhaps you may enter the House of Union [paradise] in this manner.”
“If all of you work diligently and with all your heart and if everyone understands their responsibilities, then missionaries can carry out a lot of productive work, Inshallah,” Huzoor(aba) said. He emphasised having the right mind-set and not blaming a lack of resources. Despite limited means, Huzoor(aba) said to the missionaries, it is your duty to explore new avenues and maximise what you have. He said, economists stress 'minimum resources, maximum utility.' Huzoor(aba) added: “You should also consider how to maximally utilise your limited resources and devise methods accordingly. Everyone should think along these lines”
An important but long comment Huzoor(aba) made was: “...those who are good at their tasks, or who are more knowledgeable, must not become arrogant. They should try to share and teach their knowledge with humility rather than showing off on social media or getting caught up in useless debates and then insisting that they are right. What effect do these social media debates have on the progress of the Jama’at? Your ultimate goal should be to work for the progress of the Jama’at, not just to display your knowledge or convince those who already share your views. What benefit does that bring?
History shows us that such attitudes have only led to the emergence of differing views, jurists and schools of thought, which then widened rifts. We are not to create rifts but to work as one. If someone has a good point, they should share it in such a way that it does not seem confrontational but rather fosters a sharing of ideas that enriches knowledge. If one person understands something one way and there’s a deficiency, another should explain how to overcome it. If the other person has a gap in their understanding, they should comprehend the previous person’s point. This understanding is something every missionary should always keep in mind.”
Huzoor(aba) was then presented with several questions, of which we share only a select few, beginning with the final question first, as it pertains to Huzoor’s(aba) health following his recent heart procedure. Huzoor(aba)’s well-being is always of utmost concern to Ahmadi Muslims globally.
All of us collectively prayed, missionaries as well and others too. How is Huzoor now?
Huzoor replied lightheartedly: “JazakAllah, that is very good that you all prayed. Thats is why I am sitting in front of you. You made me speak so much and you still do not know that my health is fine, that is why I am speaking!”
May Allah grant Huzoor(aba) a long, healthy and blessed life, Ameen.
Arslan Ahmad Sahib enquired about ways to contribute to the training and tarbiyat of the members of Lajna Imaillah.
In response, Huzoor(aba) smiled and asked: “What contribution have you made to the education and training of men? What percentage of men are offering salat in congregation due to his efforts and how many has he encouraged to recite the Holy Qur’an or its translation?” Huzoor(aba) then enquired how many men have been advised to behave well at home, emphasising the importance of tarbiyat for men. “The question is not about how to contribute to the training of Lajna,” Huzoor(aba) remarked, “but rather, to first reform the men, and then the Lajna shall follow.” Huzoor(aba) added that once all of this is accomplished, a coordinated programme should also be organised with the Lajna.
Nasir Mahmood Butt Sahib asked where the line is between investigation and seeking out negative things about someone.
Huzoor(aba) emphasised the importance of confidentiality in Tarbiyat matters. He warned against allowing sensitive information to leak from office files, which could lead to ridicule or humiliation. He also stated that unauthorised individuals should not undertake investigations. However, if the Jama’at inquires about known facts, these should be disclosed to the appropriate authorities. Furthermore, if secrecy adversely affects the Jama’at’s interests, relevant details must be shared with the appropriate office holders or the Amir. Huzoor(aba) also highlighted that one must always maintain good intentions in these tasks.
Hanan Ahmed Sobhi Sahib enquired about the legitimacy of Bitcoin.
Huzoor(aba) began his discussion by pointing out that the prefix ‘crypto’ implies something concealed or secretive and questioned the need for such secrecy if the practice is unproblematic. He noted that the opaque nature of cryptocurrency, valuations and transactions makes it challenging to track the flow of funds, raising concerns that money ccould be used for unethical and haram enterprises.
Huzoor(aba) also remarked perhaps only one South American country have begun to accept such currencies as legal tender, suggesting skepticism about their viability and if Bitcoin was as beneficial as some suggest, more governments would adopt it into their financial systems.
In Islam, Huzoor(aba) emphasised, business transactions should be transparent with clearly defined terms and known risks and rewards – criteria that cryptocurrencies do not meet. Their secretive and uncertain nature aligns them more with gambling, which is strictly prohibited in Islam.
If someone has a business related to alcohol or tobacco, how can they be made to understand?
Huzoor(aba) commented that tobacco is not strictly prohibited [haram] in Islam. However, he mentioned that the Promised Messiah(as) speculated that had tobacco been known during the time of the Holy Prophet(sa), it might have been deemed unlawful.
Huzoor(aba) then affirmed that alcohol is categorically forbidden, referencing the Holy Qur’an. He noted that while the Qur’an allows the consumption of swine in dire situations to preserve life, it provides no such exceptions for alcohol, except for its use in medicinal production. Even so, Huzoor(aba) emphasised that the misuse of such medicines remains prohibited.
Huzoor(aba) stressed the importance of adhering to divine commands and prohibitions, highlighting how the Companions ceased drinking immediately upon its prohibition being revealed. He also referenced various studies on alcohol consumption to explain why it is impermissible. Huzoor(aba) advised: "Explain this to them with love, not rigidly."
How can missionaries avoid difficulties with other office bearers?
Huzoor(aba) responded by saying: “This issue has existed since time immemorial. This seems to have become part of our nature.”
Huzoor(aba) emphasised that missionaries should avoid engaging in administrative tasks and concentrate instead on Tabligh [propagation] and Tarbiyat [moral training] which are their real objectives of missionaries. Effective coordination with the respective departments of Tabligh and Tarbiyat is crucial for formulating strategic plans. Inclusion of the Sadr Jama’at in these plans is necessary and any arising conflicts should promptly be reported to them. Huzoor(aba) also stated the importance of establishing a Tabligh and a Tarbiyat committee in every location, with the missionary being an integral member of these committees. Huzoor(aba) asserted. “By working together, our results will be more effective.”
The session and questions was considerably more detailed and one is encouraged to read the full transcript at the Al-Hakam website noted on the webpage and view the YouTube video.

BRIEF TEXTUAL SUMMARY
It was a remarkable mulaqat with the delegation of 72 Nasirat from Germany, who were blessed with the opportunity to meet Huzoor (aba) in Islamabad, UK on Sunday, May 12.
During this auspicious meeting, the Nasirat had the chance to ask Huzoor (aba) questions in different subject. Below, we present a selection of those questions along with very brief summaries of the answers. For more detailed responses, viewers are strongly encouraged to watch the video on the MTA YouTube channel above.
How can I give precedence to Allah the Almighty in my lifetime?
Huzoor(aba) said: “Are you aware of who it is that has provided you with everything? It is God Who gives.” ... “Expressing one’s thankfulness to God is worship itself.” Huzoor (aba) added that to be thankful to Allah, one should offer the five daily prayers and express gratitude while prostrating in prayer.
What is the meaning of the Qur’anic verse 52 of Surah Al-Maidah: “O ye who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for friends?”
In his answer, Huzoor (aba) said the verse in question should not be interpreted as forbidding or discouraging fair and compassionate treatment of Jews, Christians and other non-believers. Huzoor (aba) emphasised the importance of understanding the entire Qur'an to grasp the context and explained that God does not forbid befriending Christians and Jews in general, but rather cautions against befriending those who have strayed far from religion and could potentially have a negative influence.
What is the meaning of the prayer: “Save us from the torment of the grave?”
Huzoor (aba) explained that after a person passes away, their accountability begins and their soul ascends to the heavens. Being saved from the torment of the grave involves seeking Allah’s forgiveness, experiencing no suffering in the soul and earning Allah’s pleasure.
Huzoor (aba) further stated: “To achieve this, one must engage in good deeds. Allah commands worship, hence, one should worship Him. Allah also emphasises displaying good morals, caring for others, tending to the needy and orphans; thus, one should fulfil these responsibilities and interact with people courteously. All of these actions are considered forms of worship.”
In what ways can the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at positively influence society?
Huzoor (aba) responded: “If you are pious and devoted in your prayers, Allah shall assist you in blessing the good deeds you perform.” Huzoor (aba) then proceeded to enumerate the aforementioned good deeds, such as caring for orphans, treating others with kindness, and upholding moral values. “Moreover, engaging in acts of service to humanity, participating in charitable endeavours and contributing positively to the well-being of others.” Huzoor (aba) cited Germany as an example, highlighting how many there distinguish Ahmadis from other Muslims. He shared that during mosque inaugurations in Germany, he often hears remarks about Ahmadis being recognised as good, righteous individuals, which contributes positively to society.
“Cultivate goodness within yourself, you will inevitably have a positive impact.” Huzoor (aba) said.
How does Huzoor(aba) respond when experiencing happiness or concern?
“When experiencing happiness, we express gratitude to God. When concerned, we seek His help.”
What can I say to my friend who claims that men and women are not equal in Islam, due to men being able to marry four wives?
Huzoor (aba) explained that such permission was granted for various reasons, stating: “God has laid down conditions,” and that Allah has said that if man reaches the conditions of which he is allowed to marry another, then he may do so. Otherwise, he cannot.
Huzoor (aba) also emphasised the importance of women by noting that even the Holy Prophet(sa) encouraged learning from his wife, Hazrat Aisha(ra), stating that one can learn half of their religion from her.
What to do if there is a difference of opinion with those in authority?
Based on the questioner’s age, Huzoor (aba) remarked that her experience was only 15 years, while her teachers’ or parents’ experience was “far greater than yours.” Huzoor (aba) advised that one should not argue simply for the sake of arguing. Instead, he suggested: “You can ask them to explain their viewpoint to you.” Furthermore, Huzoor (aba) noted that there are various matters to consider, depending on the subject of the argument, whether it’s theoretical or related to rishta.
How can one become an exemplary member of Lajna Imaillah?
Huzoor (aba) highlighted the following key points:
Huzoor(aba) said: “This will genuinely define you as an exemplary Lajna member. I have repeatedly emphasised, as taught by the Promised Messiah(as), that we should always remember that Allah is watching over us. Indeed, Allah Himself has said this, and the Holy Prophet Muhammad(sa) reaffirmed that Allah observes us.
... If you consider the temporary and limited surveillance of CCTV cameras, reflect on how Allah’s ‘CCTV camera’ is even more encompassing, observing not just our actions but also the intentions in our hearts. Keep your intentions and thoughts pure as well. By adopting this mindset, you will indeed become a commendable member of Lajna.”
How should lessons be handled on LGBTQ, etc. in school?
Huzoor (aba) suggested that while they could listen to such lectures by their teachers, there is no obligation to agree with their content. Huzoor (aba) further explained, referencing religious texts, “This topic is discussed in the Bible, even more than in the Holy Qur’an, particularly regarding the people of Lot,” with both scriptures denouncing the actions of such people.
What is the right age for marriage?
Huzoor(aba) said that the law states [in the UK] that one may marry at 18 and explained that it is recommended for a woman to consider marriage when she reaches maturity which is the first condition. If the law in a country specifies the age as 17 or 18, it is advisable to consider marriage around that time. Nonetheless, it is important to pray for a suitable match.

- An Ahmadi Muslim girl should be modest and conduct her life within the framework of the sharia.
- One’s actions should seek to please Allah and conform to His will.
- A good Lajna member is also expected to be a good citizen, a noble human being and constantly express gratitude towards Allah.
- To engage with others compassionately and courteously, to help the needy, to look after your younger siblings, to respect the elderly, and to avoid being obstinate.
- To maintain good manners at all times.
Other sessions with Huzoor(aba)
- On May 11, the former President of Ghana, His Excellency John Mahama, met with Huzoor(aba) in Islamabad. During their meeting, Huzoor (aba) reflected on his time in Ghana and expressed his hope for the nation’s continued success, emphasising that the key to this success lies in honesty among both the leaders and the people.
- On Monday May 13, senior councillors from Hampshire Council, near Hadeeqatul Mahdi, had the honour of a mulaqat with Huzoor (aba). They introduced themselves, shared their sentiments and sought Huzoor’s (aba) guidance. The first question asked to Huzoor(aba) was about his health and how he was feeling.
After the meeting, three interviews with the group were filmed and can be viewed on the MTA YouTube channel. One of the guests interviewed said: “I had such a wonderful time this morning meeting His Holiness. I found him really interesting to listen to and I found him really caring on how he approached everyone in the room. I was a little bit nervous to meet him but he really put me at ease and I would love to meet him again.”

BRIEF TEXTUAL SUMMARY
On Sunday, 19 May 2024, members of the Amila of Majlis Ansarullah Canada had the privilege of an in-person mulaqat with Huzoor (aba) at Islamabad. It was yet another session where Huzoor (aba) provided guidance beneficial for all Ahmadi Muslims. We present below a very brief summary of some of the sections. Please refer to the Al-Hakam link for a detailed read or the MTA YouTube video links below.
Tarbiyat
Huzoor (aba) asked the Naib Qaid about what plans they had to ensure proper tarbiyat. As part of his answer, the Qaid said they had house-met with 3,846 Ansar to foster a personal relationship with them. Huzoor(aba) responded by asking: “Did you not also instruct them to foster a personal relationship with God?” Huzoor(aba) further stated: “If the Tarbiyat of the Ansar is done properly, then the Tarbiyat of future generations will follow naturally.”
Qaid Maal
After hearing the Qaid Maal speak about budgeting aspect, Huzoor (aba) said: “If the Tarbiyat Department put in as much effort as the Maal Department does in collecting chanda, remaining problems could be solved automatically.” Huzoor(aba) also said whilst they were consistent in financial collection, the team should also be consistent in ensouraging people “offer salat, read the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and the books of the Promised Messiah (as).”
Qaid Ta’lim
Huzoor (aba) was asked how they could encourage Ansar to read more of the books of the Promised Messiah (as). Huzoor (aba) replied that if someone is unable to read a full book from cover to cover, they can read The Essence of Islam if they understand English. For those who do not read English, Huzoor (aba) suggested Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad Qadiani(as): Apni Tehreeron Ki Roo Say, which is organised by topic. “From this, they can attain a wide range of knowledge.”.
Huzoor (aba) also referred to Malfuzat, recommending the reading of Chashma-e-Ma’rifat and mentioned that this text offers valuable insights and addresses many contemporary issues.
Huzoor (aba) provided the following advice for Amila members to focus on:
• Always speak the truth.
• Concentrate on prayers.
• Recite the Qur’an and strive to understand its meaning.
• Read the books of the Promised Messiah (as) and endeavor to comprehend them.
• Serve God’s creations.
• Ensure the moral training of those in your household and set a positive example for them.
Tabligh
During his discussion with the Tabligh Department, Huzoor (aba) inquired about the annual Bai’at target and was informed that the goal was 100 bai‘ats and to-date they have achieved 32. They also reported conducting one-on-one Tabligh sessions, among other initiatives.
Huzoor (aba) emphasised to the Qaid Tabligh the importance of engaging directly with the public rather than focusing on interactions with political figures. He cautioned against equating success with political associations and media coverage, stressing that true achievement lies in the spiritual development and training of Jama’at members. He advised that events should prioritize enhancing members' understanding and practice of Islamic teachings, rather than showcasing political connections.
The Qaid Sehat-e-Jismani asked Huzoor (aba) regarding the invitation of non-Ahmadi guests to Jama'at sports events.
In response, Huzoor (aba) was told that 1,400 Ansar own bicycles and highlighted a recent Canada-wide cycling event in which 500 Ansar participated. Huzoor (aba) then shared an example from the UK, where 50 cyclists rode to Spain and were joined by additional cyclists from around the world resulting in a preaching opportunity during their 250-300 km journey. Huzoor (aba) suggested organising a similar event in Canada, with separate activities for the more experienced cyclists, emphasising that such events should serve as a means of spreading the message of Islam, as demonstrated by the UK cyclists who also distributed literature.
Huzoor (aba) also reiterated to Ansar the importance of promoting healthy activities like cycling, noting that seeing others participate can inspire broader involvement.
Qaid Isaar
The Qaid Isaar highlighted their department’s efforts to engage Ansar members by delivering small gifts and checking on their well-being. Huzoor (aba), however, emphasised that the Qaid Isaars duty is to motivate Ansar members to contribute to charitable causes to individuals less fortunate than Ansar members. Huzoor (aba) stated: “It is not enough to simply make them happy by giving them gifts. The purpose of the department of Isaar is to serve others, not our own members.”
Huzoor (aba) said that Ansar members should be encouraged to donate to charity through various organisations such as Humanity First, as well as local and international charities. “Inform them [the Ansar] that you are not soliciting donations for yourselves or the Jama’at. Rather, you are appealing on behalf of the impoverished in Africa and other underprivileged regions to provide them with water and food.”
Huzoor (aba) further stated Ansar members should be reminded that at this moment in their life, their focus should be on giving alms and Allah the Almighty will reward them for this and the next stage of their lives is the hereafter and their attention should be directed towards this.
Question was asked is the victory of Islam conditional upon the occurrence of a World War?
Huzoor (aba) responded: "It is not conditional. Where is it written that it is conditional?” Huzoor (aba) stated that such a destiny can be altered through our prayers, as Allah has the power to change the state of the world without major calamities, but only if people reform themselves. Therefore, our responsibility is to make every effort to propagate this message. Thus, if people do not heed the message, they will at least recognise that there were individuals who called them towards this path. Then, when calamities occur, those who survive will turn towards you. Huzoor (aba) emphasised: "… our task is to introduce ourselves and propagate our message to others. However, if people do not listen, whatever Allah Almighty has destined will undoubtedly prevail."
