Questions asked during the above virtual mulaqat but not covered in the Youtube video appear in the Al-Hakam report and produced below. Readers are still encouraged to read the report on the Al-Hakam website as they publish more details than what we have presented here. (Direct link to the article is in the date header).

Al-Hakam – (held on 26th February – Lajna, Bangladesh)
  • QUESTION: Mahmuda Akter Sahiba sought guidance from Huzoor(aba) regarding the challenge of maintaining focus on a particular goal. She also inquired whether it is prudent to keep alternative options available in the event that the primary objective cannot be achieved.
Huzoor(aba) said: "You should make some sort of preference order: this is the subject you like more, if you get admission in that subject or you are able to achieve that goal, then well and good, otherwise, you should shift over to the next option and there should be some choices before you.”

Huzoor(aba) then asked her what she wanted more from her studies because she was already studying finance, to which she replied that she was not entirely content with her current course of study. Hazrat Khalifatul Masihaa then asked what her second option was. Mahmuda Akter Sahiba said that she initially wanted to do a government job.

Huzoor(aba) then said: “Unless you complete your degree, and do at least a master’s degree in any of the subjects, only then can you sit for the public service exam. When you qualify the public service exam, you can be given a government job. Otherwise, you will only be selected as an office clerk, a small worker, or a peon in that office. You cannot be selected as an officer. So, if you want an officer grade, you will have to work hard, complete your bachelor’s degree, then master’s degree […] and then, you can sit for the public service exam, and then if you qualify that exam, you will be selected for public service and then you can get a government job, otherwise, not.”

Alluding to her subject and interests, Huzoor(aba) said, “You know yourself better than me and you can judge yourself.”

Huzoor(aba) explained that considering two to three options can offer fallback choices in case the original option doesn’t work out, but eventually, one needs to choose a specific direction as having too many options can prevent one from focusing on any one thing. Hence, Huzoor(aba) added: “Once you have gotten admission in finance, then try to complete it. And when you complete your BBA degree, then you can either apply for a public service exam or you can do a master’s and then apply for a public service exam.”

  • QUESTION: Sneha Rahman Sahiba stated that due to her busy schedule and participation in university programmes, she is unable to offer zuhr and asr prayers at their appointed times. She said she compensates for this by combining the prayers at maghrib time.
Upon hearing this, Huzoor(aba)a told her to take a 10 -15 minute break during the early time of zuhr to offer the zuhr and asr prayers and offer maghrib and isha prayers at home. Huzoor(aba) explained that it is not appropriate to combine the zuhr and asr prayers with maghrib due to the programmes at the university.

  • QUESTION: Amtul Musawwar Sahiba, currently studying for a BSc degree in physics, said that, at times, some subjects help one build successful careers but may not be beneficial for the Jama'at. She asked Huzoor(aba) what one should do in such a situation?
Huzoor(aba) asked what she wanted to do after completing her studies, to which she replied that she wanted to teach. “It is quite beneficial for the Jama'at. If you are a teacher, if you are portraying the true picture of a Muslim woman, then your staff members and your students will know that, ‘she is the true portrayal of Islamic teachings, and at the same time, she is quite a good teacher, she has good morals, she has some religious knowledge, and she offers her prayers on time’, and this will also open the doors of tabligh and the introduction to Islam Ahmadiyyat. So, every subject is beneficial for Jama'at. Don’t think that physics is a subject that is not beneficial for Jamaat. It is the person who makes the subject beneficial or not.”
Huzoor(aba) added: “So after completing your bachelor’s degree, do an MSc degree, and then if possible, a PhD degree; but, you must remember – as I have already said – at the same time, if you get a good match, a good rishtah for yourself then your first preference should be to get married and to take care and look after your household and your children. If your husband allows you to continue your studies or allows you to work in the university or any field which you have chosen then you can do that, but at the same time, as I have said, you should be the true portrayal of the Islamic teaching – that is the main character of an Ahmadi woman or a girl.”

Questions asked during the above virtual mulaqat but not covered in the Youtube video appear in the Al-Hakam report and produced below. Readers are still encouraged to read the report on the Al-Hakam website as they publish more details than what we have presented here. (Direct link to the article is in the date header).

Al-Hakam – (Virtual meeting – 19th March – Lajna & Nasirat, Norway)
  • QUESTION: Farah Dania Fawzi asked Huzoor(aba) where one goes after one dies?
In response, Huzoor(aba) said that when one passes away, the soul leaves the body. “The body remains behind and is buried here on earth.” Huzoor(aba) added. “Allah rewards those who have spent their lives doing good deeds, with Heaven,” while those who have spent their lives committing bad deeds are punished.

  • QUESTION: Alisha Zohra Ahmad asked why Christians believe Prophet Jesus(as) to be the son of God. She also asked how one could explain to them, without hurting their sentiments, that Jesus(as) was a prophet of Allah and not God?
Huzoor(aba) said: “Prophet Jesus(as) did not claim to be the son of God. The Bible addresses every noble man as ‘son of God’”. Huzoor(aba) said that it was when Christianity swayed away from its true and original teachings that such beliefs crept in. Huzoor(aba) added that this doctrine was first conceived by Paul [Paul commonly known as Paul the Apostle and Saint Paul, was a Christian apostle who spread the teachings of Jesus in the first-century world], Prophet Jesus(as) never claimed, nor is it written in the Bible, that Jesus(as) is God’s literal son. Huzoor(aba) said that she should ask the murabbi in her area to help her find references in this regard.

  • QUESTION: Elisha Farrukh asked if she was permitted to celebrate her birthday at home with her parents and siblings in a simple manner.
Huzoor(aba)smiled and said she was permitted to do so. But Huzoor(aba) said: “However, remember to pray for yourself on your birthday.” Huzoor(aba) said that she should also offer two nawafil (voluntary prayers), pray for herself and give charity. Huzoor(aba) said that she could then celebrate her birthday at home and cut a cake if she so desired.

  • QUESTION: Abeerah Hayat asked, if Allah bestowed mankind with free will, why are humans punished if they do something wrong?
Huzoor(aba) explained that Allah the Almighty has bestowed humans with free will and then established His laws. He stated that Allah has given humans the ability to choose between good and bad and has informed them that they will be rewarded for doing good and punished for committing bad deeds and cheating others. “Allah has also bestowed humans with intellect”, Huzoor(aba) added. He emphasised that if Allah has given humans intellect, it is their responsibility to make full use of it.

Huzoor(aba) explained that Allah the Almighty has made the distinction between good and bad clear, and stated that God sent down His Messengers to call humanity towards the path of goodness.

  • QUESTION:  Romaan Nur Qadir Sahiba noted that while much is known about the Promised Messiah’(as) father and brother, not much is known about his mother, Hazrat Chiragh Bibi Sahiba, apart from her name. She asked Huzoor(aba)why this was so.
Huzoor(aba) replied that whatever information was found in history was recorded. He added that there are some narrations about Hazrat Chiragh Bibi Sahiba that can be found in history as well. Huzoor(aba) further said that she could ask him in writing and he would send her those narrations. Huzoor added:“Then you can also share them with the nasirat and Lajna members.”

  • QUESTION: Nudrat Anwar Sahiba quoted the Qur’anic verse: “And those who say, ‘Our Lord, grant us of our wives and children the delight of [our] eyes, and make us a model for the righteous.” (Ch.25: V.75) and asked Huzoor(aba) what prayers one can supplicate and which deeds one can do, to become the recipient of this prayer.
Huzoor(aba) said that when parents pray fervently for their children to be “the delight of [our] eyes, and make us a model for the righteous”, (Ch.25: V.75) both the mother and father should be role models for those whose training is entrusted to them. Secondly, Huzoor(aba) said children should pray for their parents in their prayers, asking Allah to bless their health and make them the delight of their eyes. Children should also pray that they do not commit any acts that may bring infamy to their parents. “Salat is the best and most beautiful means of supplication and achieving the acceptance of prayers. Therefore, more attention should be paid to prayers”, Huzoor(aba) said.
