HOW IT ALL BEGAN - Brief intro
  • The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was founded in 1989 by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad - peace be upon him (pictured right) whom we accept as the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi and came to revive the true, peaceful teachings of Islam. READ MORE ABOUT THE FOUNDER HERE.
  • The Promised Messiah (peace be upon him) emphasised the need to develop a strong spiritual bond with God and to serve His creation. Presently, the Community is established in more than 212 countries and is engaged in numerous development projects to provide healthcare, education, energy and food. This is partly through our major aid agencies like HUMANITY FIRST and IAAAE.​
  • Currently, under the fifth successor, the community stands as a truly global Community with tens of millions of members.​ In the UK, it was established in 1913, making it is one of the oldest established Muslim communities. As of Jan 2021, there are 138 branches from Dundee to Cornwall.

  • The Founder passed away in 1908 and the continuation and expansion of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been through the blessed institution of Khilafat (spiritual successors). 
​THE AHMADIYYA MUSLIM COMMUNITY TODAY
  • The present and fifth Khalifa (Caliph) of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is His Holiness, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad. He was elected to this life-long position on 22 April 2003.
  • Throughout the world, the Khalifa has met many heads of state and delivered keynote addresses including to the United States Congress, the European Parliament and the UK House of Parliament. He works tirelessly to promote the themes of justice, freedom, equality, respect and peace for all.
  • The global Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is made up of a unique administrative system at various levels and a number of departments in each country that oversee the spiritual well-being, education and advancement of its members and serving humanity in various projects and activities.​
  • At the helm of this enormous responsibility is the Khalifa who's spiritual and administrative guidance and leadership forms the backbone of the continued expansion and progress of the international Community.
