12 questions were asked during meetings with Khuddam from the Southwest Region of the USA and team members from Humanity First UK
SUMMARISED ANSWERS from the Khuddam mulaqat
Huzoor (aba) also stated that the Qur’an offers practical steps, including caring for orphans, supporting the poor, giving charity, and empowering individuals to become self-reliant. Huzoor (aba) highlighted that the Jama’at actively engages in such work through the Department of Khidmat-e-Khalq and Humanity First, not only during disasters but also through ongoing projects, including hospitals, schools, villages and hand pumps.
Huzoor (aba) emphasised that the Qur’an contains numerous commandments that encourage assistance to the needy and that believers should strive for absolute justice, ensuring that even the most vulnerable are supported. While governments provide some aid, Huzoor (aba) reminded that it is the religious and moral responsibility of Muslims and Ahmadi Muslims to help those in need actively.

When philosophers raise questions about the purpose of life, the nature of man, or the existence of God, Huzoor (aba) said that the Qur’an has already provided the most comprehensive and logical answers to all of these. Thus, if one’s foundation of faith is strong, the study of philosophy will enable one to discern which ideas are true and which are false.
Huzoor (aba) continued by saying that, if someone approaches philosophy without a strong belief in God, philosophical ideas can confuse them or even lead them to doubt their faith. Therefore, it is essential to study while keeping in mind the teachings of the Qur’an and the explanations given by the Promised Messiah (as) in his book, ‘The Philosophy and Teachings of Islam’, where he has addressed every central philosophical question concerning God, the soul, free will, destiny and morality in a manner no philosopher could ever achieve.
Huzoor (aba) said: “… Allah says Qur’an Kareem is the last law-bearing book which gives you the teaching about religion and about your day-to-day secular and worldly affairs.”
Huzoor (aba) concluded by saying that one should study philosophy, but always under the guidance of the Qur’an. In doing so, philosophy will not weaken faith; it will strengthen it.

Understanding the meanings of the words recited helps maintain attention and performing prayers with humility, sincerity and love, rather than as mere ritual, strengthens concentration. When reciting in concentration Surah Fatiha in prayer, Huzoor (aba) said: “You will realise how merciful Allah is towards us and the countless blessings and favours He has bestowed upon you. When you see all those blessings, you will feel grateful…” and “When you express gratitude to Allah, your emotions will deepen …”
Huzoor (aba) advised asking Allah for help in offering prayers with devotion. He noted that distraction is natural at first, but gently returning the mind to Allah will gradually improve focus. Avoiding worldly distractions and spending time in silence, with remembrance of Allah, also aids concentration.

Huzoor (aba) explained that when members withdraw due to the harshness of an office bearer, they should be approached with humility, love and a sincere apology, whether the harm was intentional or not. Often, people leave because of individual behaviour rather than the Jama’at itself, so it is essential to demonstrate through one’s own conduct that Islam and the Jama’at uphold kindness, justice and brotherhood.
Meetings with such members should be conducted gently and attentively, with a focus on listening to their concerns without argument. Huzoor (aba) emphasised praying for them, asking Allah to heal their hearts and restore love for faith.
Huzoor (aba) said that office-bearers must also reflect on their own behaviour, remaining humble, polite and just, remembering that their role is to serve, not to gain authority. “Allah the Almighty thus gave a guiding principle: the way to act to show them kindness”, and through love, humility, prayer and a good example, members can be re-engaged and with Allah’s blessings, persistent efforts can bring them back.

Huzoor stressed that Ahmadis must never engage in violent actions, but always follow the path of peace, truth and prayer. Above all, he emphasised the importance of self-reform and unity among Muslims, noting that when they sincerely follow the Qur’an and seek Allah’s help, hardships can be alleviated. In summary, prayer, advocacy, humanitarian support and strengthening one’s faith are the ways to help the people of Palestine truly

Questions should be answered calmly and knowledgeably, without argument or emotion, explaining that Ahmadiyyat is true Islam and revives the prophecy of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa). Huzoor (aba) mentioned that the Promised Messiah and Mahdi (as) came to unite humanity, end hatred and restore peace and love.
Differences with other Muslims should be addressed politely, emphasising the goal of bringing people closer to Allah. Providing literature, inviting people to Jama’at events and showing the peaceful, disciplined and brotherly lifestyle of Ahmadis serve as powerful examples of Tabligh. Huzoor (aba) also said: “You cannot force anybody to accept Ahmadiyyat” and one should relate their own personal and positive experience and blessings of Ahmadiyyat.

Huzoor (aba) emphasised that genuine connection begins with Allah and by worshipping Him, fulfilling His rights and acting according to His teachings, members naturally maintain bonds with the Jama’at and with one another.
Hospitality and good moral character are essential everywhere, both as a demonstration of Islamic values and as a means of Tabligh, conveying our message. Huzoor (aba) noted that the Khalifa’s role is to connect people with Allah and ensure that they fulfil each other’s rights, in line with the mission of the Promised Messiah (as). Huzoor (aba) said: “If you fulfil the rights of one another, then you will succeed”. Achieving these objectives ensures that members in any country, be it America, Canada, Australia, Germany, or elsewhere, remain close to the Khalifa and the Jama’at.

Huzoor (aba) urged that such examples should inspire sacrifice, especially in fundraising and that people should be made aware of these lessons to cultivate empathy and generosity. He stressed that funds raised are ultimately for the benefit of those in need and maintaining this perspective ensures that efforts are sincere and rewarded by Allah.

Proper training in disaster management, encompassing essential skills, courage and responsibilities, is crucial. Participation should be organised according to individuals’ capacity and experience, generally for those 25 and older, with precautions in place for younger participants.
Huzoor (aba) stressed that women have great potential and are used to fighting in Islamic battles with no guarantees that they would return safely. Huzoor (aba) cited the example of Hazrat Umm Ammarah (ra), who fought as did other women; “…she set out alone to free her brother, wielding her sword in every direction. The Muslim men stepped back, astonished at what she was doing and wondered who this man was.” When asked to reveal herself, she responded by saying that she could not tell them nor remove her face covering. She did eventually free her brother all by herself. Huzoor (aba) concluded by saying: “… women definitely have the potential…”

10 questions were asked during meetings with Khuddam from Sweden
SUMMARISED ANSWERS from the Khuddam mulaqat
Huzoor (aba) highlighted that the entire environment of Rabwah acted as a teacher, as all the people around him contributed to his upbringing. The teachers were righteous, religious and those entrusted with Jama’at responsibilities offered wise counsel. Huzoor (aba) noted that this environment in Rabwah was very different from that of modern cities and that “everyone was inspiring”.

Huzoor (aba) explained a Hadith that teaches us to look towards those who have less in worldly matters, so that gratitude to Allah naturally grows. However, in spiritual matters, one should look towards those who excel, as this inspires a person to strive for higher moral and spiritual progress and to strengthen their relationship with Allah. By adopting this mindset, a believer keeps worldly desires in check and remains focused on true spiritual advancement.
Parents should reduce unnecessary costs and organise their schedules so that at least one parent is present when the children return home, protecting them from negative influences. He advised managing worldly desires with gratitude and focusing on spiritual progress, explaining that Islam teaches us to look to those with less in worldly matters and to those who excel in faith for spiritual motivation.
Huzoor (aba) added that careers which serve humanity, such as teaching or medicine, are praiseworthy, provided parents balance them responsibly with their duties toward their children.

Huzoor (aba) referenced the example of Khalifa Awwal (ra) and Khalifa Sani (ra) during Hajj, who gave similar guidance. In situations of compulsion or fear, it is permissible to pray behind the Imam. Still, the prayer should be repeated later at home, as the Imam is not followed as part of faithful adherence to the Promised Messiah (as).

Huzoor (aba) explained that one can serve the Jama’at either as a scientist or as a missionary and the choice should depend on the individual’s genuine interest and passion. He emphasised that a scientist who excels in their field can positively influence their environment, which may create opportunities for Tabligh and allow them to serve the Jama’at indirectly. At the same time, a missionary must also progress in their knowledge and skills to train and guide others effectively. Huzoor (aba) said that in both cases, acquiring religious knowledge and maintaining a strong relationship with Allah are essential.
Huzoor (aba) emphasised that the ultimate purpose is the moral and spiritual development of oneself and others, as one cannot guide others without being spiritually upright. He illustrated this point with the example of Dr Abdus Salam, who combined his academic excellence with deep faith, prayer, reflection on the Qur’an and guidance from its teachings, which helped him attain the Nobel Prize.
Huzoor (aba) concluded that both paths, scientific or missionary, are valid avenues for serving humanity and the Jama’at. The key is to choose the path one is genuinely interested in, pursue it with sincerity and ensure that worldly success does not compromise one’s devotion, religious duties, or moral training.

Huzoor (aba) said, after carefully considering the responsibilities of Waqf-e-Zindagi and the sacrifices you will have to make, when you feel prepared, you may offer your life as Waqf. It depends on you.
Huzoor (aba) said: “This is why of Waqf-e-Nau: I ask them to renew their bond at the age of 15, when they are somewhat mature and then to renew that bond again after completing their education, so they will fully understand what being a Waqf-e-Zindagi they know what they will have to do and that they are offering their life with their own wish and desire.”
At this point, Huzoor (aba) mentioned that he offered his life as a waqf-e-Zindagi after completing his education.
If you feel mature enough at the age of 16, you can do it at that age. If you think: “No, I still need to complete my education and become something beneficial for the Jama’at, and then offer my life,” you can do Waqf at a later stage, after finishing your education.
Concluding, Huzoor (aba) there is no time limit. It is your heart that will tell you when the right time is.

Huzoor (aba) advised that believers should not be troubled by metaphorical verses, as their interpretation is for scholars, and personal understanding deepens with spiritual growth. He emphasised that one’s priority should be fulfilling the obligatory duties of faith, for it is through these that Allah promises Paradise.
Huzoor (aba) warned that using metaphorical verses to justify personal desires or to abandon clear commandments, such as reducing the five daily prayers, as some Muslim sects have done and it is a serious misguidance and sinful. Allah instructs believers to follow the explanations of knowledgeable scholars, as the Qur’an contains many layers of meaning that scholars throughout history have explored in their commentaries.
Huzoor (aba) concluded that allegorical verses are meant to broaden understanding and deepen reflection; however, the core requirements of Islam lie in the clear and definitive commandments that every believer must uphold.

Huzoor (aba) said that when a person sincerely counts and reflects on the countless blessings Allah has given them, genuine gratitude develops. This gratitude awakens spiritual emotions, increases humility and brings the heart closer to Allah. Such emotions naturally lead to a state of softness and even tears in prayer. This inner state is khushu.
Huzoor (aba) explained that by continually reflecting on Allah’s favours and praying for these emotions to grow stronger, Allah grants His help. In this way, one develops humility, concentration and a more profound sense of closeness to Allah in daily prayers.

Regarding career choices, Huzoor (aba) stated that no field will remain untouched by AI; whatever profession a person enters, AI will eventually become an integral part of it, potentially reducing job opportunities. Therefore, the real solution lies not in chasing specific careers but in cultivating simplicity, contentment and a modest lifestyle. He noted that humanity may return to more basic ways of living, as only a small number of affluent people will remain unaffected until they face the impact of collapsing economies.
Huzoor (aba) warned that this trajectory points toward widespread ruin unless humanity turns back to God. His advice was that regardless of the profession one chooses, these conditions will prevail during one’s youth, and one should be especially concerned for the future challenges their children will face.

Huzoor (aba) clarified that humility and self-respect are not contradictory but are two distinct virtues. Self-respect refers to dignity, while humility means gentleness and meekness. Islam forbids arrogance and boastfulness, but it does not prohibit maintaining personal dignity. In fact, dignified behaviour earns people’s respect.
Huzoor (aba) said that being humble does not diminish one’s honour. Many people are respected because of their humility. Meeting others gently and avoiding unnecessary arguments does not mean sacrificing dignity – it is a virtue praised by Allah. Stubbornness, arrogance and a sense of superiority, however, destroy both humility and genuine self-respect, causing others to distance themselves.
Huzoor (aba) gave the example of the Promised Messiah (as), who was deeply humble and beloved by Allah for this quality. Yet his humility did not negate his honour; when the truth or the honour of Islam required it, he confronted opponents firmly and defended the faith. Similarly, the Holy Prophet (sa) exemplified this balance, showing kindness and gentleness with children, women and the poor, yet fearless when protecting the honour of Islam.
In conclusion, Huzoor (aba) stated that true humility and dignity coexist: one is gentle in personal conduct but stands firm and honourable in the defence of truth.

He instructed Ahmadis to utilise these very channels to promote morality, discuss religion and convey the message of God. In doing so, their own morals and faith remain protected, while the public becomes aware of what is right.
Huzoor stressed that proper use of technology helps protect one’s own morals and guides others toward what is right. He concluded by affirming that while these are substantial challenges, they can be broken and countered through this principled and proactive use of technology in accordance with Allah's teachings.

- (3) What should Pakistani Ahmadis do if they are asked to pray behind a non-Ahmadi?

- (6) Why are some parts of the Holy Qur’an revealed in metaphorical language?

- (7) How do I attain concentration and humility (khushu) in my daily prayers?

- (8) What is Huzoor’s view on AI making specific jobs redundant in the next 10–15 years, and in these circumstances, what professions should the youth pursue?

- (9) How can we maintain a balance between humility and self-respect?

- (10) What is the biggest challenge facing humanity today?
He instructed Ahmadis to utilise these very channels to promote morality, discuss religion and convey the message of God. In doing so, their own morals and faith remain protected, while the public becomes aware of what is right.
Huzoor stressed that proper use of technology helps protect one’s own morals and guides others toward what is right. He concluded by affirming that while these are substantial challenges, they can be broken and countered through this principled and proactive use of technology in accordance with Allah's teachings.

Summarised Answers to Questions
Huzoor (aba) added that adopting such trends can lead to further undesirable habits, such as tattooing or body piercings, all of which require strong moral training to prevent. He emphasised that these kinds of adornments are for women and men should instead focus on their responsibilities of cultivating a relationship with God and spreading the message of Islam.
Finally, Huzoor (aba) advised that moral training should reach this standard and he reminded the Mohtamim Atfal that: “...you should ensure the Atfal are giving moral training in accordance to this so that when they enter Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, they are aware of these things.”

Khuddam from Maryland, in the United States, had the honour of having a mulaqat.
Huzoor (aba) emphasised that faith should be approached with the same seriousness and consistency as worldly pursuits. A true relationship with Allah is built gradually by offering the five daily prayers with proper focus, humility and presence of heart. Huzoor (aba) illustrated this through the example of the Holy Prophet (sa) correcting a companion’s prayer until it was offered calmly and with full attention to Allah.
Huzoor (aba) further explained that progress requires fulfilling both the rights of Allah and the rights of people and following the many Qur’anic commandments. Only after consistent practice of regular prayers, voluntary prayers, remembrance of Allah and obedience, does a person rise from the “primary school” stage of spirituality toward higher stations.
Huzoor (aba) concluded that just as academic qualifications require patience and long-term dedication, spiritual closeness to Allah also requires steady effort and obedience to His commands. Only then does a person truly advance and become deserving of Allah’s nearness and acceptance.

Huzoor (aba) said that Allah informs the deceased when their loved ones pray for them and such prayers contribute to raising their spiritual rank. This is why the Holy Prophet (sa) advised relatives to pray at the grave for forty days after someone’s passing, as these prayers aid in the deceased’s status in the hereafter. Paradise contains many ranks and Allah raises them step-by-step in response to the prayers offered on their behalf.
Regarding the deceased knowing what their relatives are doing in the world, Huzoor (aba) said: “Some people narrate their dreams that so-and-so relative or loved one appeared in my dream and he told me that such and such act that I am doing is wrong and that I should rectify it because Allah the Almighty is displeased with you. This means that Allah the Almighty will have informed them. Allah has put in place a system."
Huzoor (aba) concluded by saying that this is part of Allah’s spiritual system and not the literal appearance of a physical body. “It is through this method of Allah that we receive messages and we are informed of certain things”

Huzoor (aba) highlighted that the Al Islam website has made this process easier. By opening the Qur’an app and using the “Tafsir” section, readers can access commentaries from the Promised Messiah (as), the Khulafa and various addresses explaining the verses. Engaging with these commentaries creates interest and leads readers towards the referenced books.
Huzoor (aba) further stated that interest can also be developed through topic-based collections. Urdu speakers have access to compilations of extracts and English speakers can use the multi-volume of ‘The Essence of Islam’, which groups teachings of the Promised Messiah (as) by subject. By selecting topics of personal interest and following the referenced sources, a person naturally becomes inclined to read the full books.
Huzoor (aba) concluded that just as people dedicate time to novels, internet browsing, they should apply the same effort and discipline to read these spiritual books, many of which are also conveniently available on Kindle.

Huzoor (aba) emphasised that AI itself is not inherently harmful; it has many beneficial uses, such as translation and accessing useful global knowledge. The internet provides vast resources like encyclopaedias, applications and information platforms and it is up to the individual to judge what is good, beneficial, harmful, or misleading.
Huzoor (aba) said that Allah has bestowed humans with intellect and knowledge so they can evaluate information responsibly and make wise decisions. By applying this discernment and using technology correctly, a person not only protects themselves from misinformation but also draws closer to Allah.

Huzoor (aba) said that when a person is worshipping sincerely, doing good works, giving charity, and fulfilling the rights of others, yet their hardship continues, then this trial from Allah is meant to elevate them. Sometimes Allah delays acceptance of prayers to deepen a believer’s supplications and wipe away past shortcomings.
However, if someone is neglecting prayers, committing sins and failing to fulfil the rights of others and then a hardship strikes, this may be a punishment – partly given in this world and completed in the Hereafter. At times, Allah may also impose a hardship in this life to purify a person from unknown sins so that they face no punishment in the next life.
Huzoor (aba) advised that one should remain grateful to Allah in all circumstances and continuously pray for protection from trials that are too difficult to bear. He reminded that the Qur’an teaches prayers seeking ease, mercy and forgiveness and these should be recited regularly.
Huzoor (aba) said: “The last verse of the Surah I recited during the Fajr prayer this morning is also a prayer for seeking forgiveness from Allah the Almighty. ‘Do not hold us to account, do not prolong our trial and show us mercy.’ I repeatedly recite such verses and chapters so that people remember them. If you remember them, you will also uncover the message therein. Then, you will pass through your trials easily.”
Concluding, Huzoor (aba) encouraged believers not to be overwhelmed by minor difficulties, as such challenges are a normal part of worldly life and must be endured with patience.

Huzoor (aba) emphasised that faith itself is the foundation of trust. When a person strengthens their faith and consistently prays, Allah bestows His blessings, sometimes even in this life. Yet some trials may last long and he illustrated this through the story of a saint who prayed for 30 years without apparent acceptance. Despite repeatedly hearing his prayer rejected, the saint persisted because he had nowhere else to turn except Allah. Finally, Allah accepted all his prayers at once, demonstrating the power of unwavering trust.
Huzoor (aba) concluded that trust in Allah is developed by maintaining firm faith, continuous prayer and the certainty that Allah ultimately responds, whether in this world or the next.

Huzoor (aba) said that with today’s temptations, especially through the internet, inappropriate media, bad company, alcohol and immoral interactions are tools through which Satan seeks to mislead people. Therefore, the Qur’an instructs Muslims to keep good company, avoid vain and corrupt environments, pray regularly and maintain a living fear of Allah in their hearts. With this spiritual discipline, societal pressures lose their power.
Huzoor (aba) emphasised that good morals begin with worship. Through sincere worship and prayer, a believer asks Allah to keep them firm upon righteous conduct, such as caring for others, helping the poor, protecting orphans, avoiding immorality and safeguarding oneself from modern societal vices. He concluded that regularly reciting Istighfar brings Allah’s help: it protects one from future sins and wipes away past sins, enabling a believer to remain steadfast despite external pressures.

Huzoor (aba) explained that faith, like a difficult school subject, requires dedicated effort to understand and practice. It is through this struggle reading, studying and applying the Qur'an – that a believer finds clarity and ease, as Allah aids those who strive sincerely. Huzoor (aba) said:
When you develop the thought that you are sinful, then Istighfar is the natural recourse and the answer to the question of how to overcome that. In order to diminish that state of sin, one must employ the use Istighfar, as I mentioned earlier as well. Recite Istighfar and strive to recite it. Then, don’t just recite the Holy Qur’an but also study its meanings.”
Huzoor (aba) urged everyone to regularly recite prayers of forgiveness, establish their prayers, and thoughtfully engage with the Qur'an. Making excuses about being unworthy leads nowhere; true spiritual growth comes from continuous effort and seeking divine help.
